IT Partnership's roots go back to 1988. The tools have changed repeatedly since then; our emphasis on understanding the business, building dependable software and supporting customers for the long term has not.
The business originally traded as Tailor Made Software before adopting the IT Partnership name to reflect a wider range of services and the collaborative way we prefer to work with customers.
Business understanding matters
Software projects succeed when technical decisions are grounded in how the organisation actually operates. We are comfortable discussing workflows, bottlenecks, data, staff training and practical constraints — not just programming languages and frameworks.
Communication without jargon
Our older website made a point of communication skills, and that remains worth preserving. Customers should not need to become software engineers to explain what they need. Our job is to ask the right questions, make sensible recommendations and explain technical choices clearly.
Support after delivery
Bespoke software often stays in service for many years. We design for maintainability, provide source code and take continuing support seriously. When change is needed, we favour careful improvements that protect the parts of a system that already work.
Technology follows the requirement
The old IT Partnership website had pages devoted to individual technologies that were current at the time. This new site deliberately avoids presenting a shopping list of tools. We use appropriate current technology, but the outcome for the business is more important than the label on the framework.
